Thursday 29th May – Windsurf *** The Manor at Felixstowe – sunny periods.

Foil – 17.13 knot max, 16.28 knot ave., 11.18 knot hour, 14.90 knot mile, 25.57 km., 12.34 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Bolt 5.5 and Naish 4.7.

Will the wind ever stop blowing! Today was my 5th consecutive day windsurf foiling, I am definatly having a day off tomorrow as it is Maeva day(our Granddaughter) A fresh breeze from the sw turning wsw so I headed down to The Manor at 9.15 to check the conditions hoping to make the most of low water! It was cloudy and did not look overly inviting with the crossshore wind gusting to 28 mph! I didn’t fancy another trip ov er to Levington so I manned up and decided to give it a go, quickly setting up the foil board and rigged 4.7 but by the time I had put my wetsuit on the wind had eased. I still tried the small sail and did fly out to the shipping channel but slowly returned to the beach where I came ashore and rigged my 5.5. I had a good hour once again doing long runs out, one was two miles out to see a couple of yachts sailing down the coast in rough conditions! The wind had now turned wsw slightly off which is no problem here but after a week of sailing it was taking it’s toll and was getting knackered so decided to call it a day!

Walk – Felixstowe prom.

At home I made a yummy sausage sandwich for the both of us and sent a few pics to the TV weather and was pleased when the lovely Chris Page featured one of my windsurfing board on this evenings forecast! Mag and I then had a walk down to the pier, along the prom and back through the town, completely knackering and we were pleased to get home for a cuppa and cake, we could not believe how close and hot it was!
